I am a PhD student in the Genomics and Bioinformatics Cluster at the University of Central Florida, where my research integrates conservation genetics, disease ecology, and environmental toxicology to address complex challenges in wildlife health and management. My current work focuses on gopher tortoises (Gopherus polyphemus), where I investigate host–pathogen dynamics, immune function, and environmental drivers of disease to inform conservation strategies and improve management outcomes.

More broadly, my research spans multiple systems, including bat populations, invasive lionfish, and coastal ecosystems, reflecting a commitment to understanding how anthropogenic stressors—such as heavy metal contamination, microplastics, and habitat alteration impact wildlife across terrestrial and marine environments. By combining field-based research with genomic and physiological approaches, I aim to generate applied, management-relevant science that supports biodiversity conservation.

As a scientist with Native American heritage, I am also committed to inclusive conservation practices and perspectives that recognize the interconnectedness of ecological health, cultural values, and long-term environmental stewardship.
